We were fortunate enough to sit down with Tokyo Olympian and Primary School Teacher Jessie Knight, an athlete that is living proof that you can be successful both inside and outside of sport.
Throughout her years as a teenager Knight was committed to athletics, and continued to combine the sport with her studies up until 2017, when she decided to concentrate on her teaching career. Two years later she made a comeback and, despite being a full-time teacher, she achieved a breakthrough 400m win at the 2020 Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow and claimed her first British title two weeks later.
Fast forward to now and Knight is Great Britains fastest 400m Hurdler, Nike athlete and Tokyo Olympian. We spoke to her about her breakthrough performance and what it meant to her, and what the key to a successful dual-career is.
